Flags not clearing

We have items in Outlook and when you click on Actions, Clear Flag they are
not clearing. You cannot highlight and right-click on "Follow-Up" "Clear
Flag" either. Why oh why?
 
what account type and if you change folders do they clear?

It is XP..just by trial and error a "Help, Detect and Repair" fixed the
problem.

Gosh darnit..it happened again.
