Flagging Messages with Outlook 2002

I Cannot flag messages in my internet provider's inbox
folder...error messages indicates that "messages on this
server cannot be modified". I can, however, flag
messages in other Outlook folders. Please help!
 
What do you mean "my internet provider's inbox folder"? What is the folder
name in Outlook? Do you have more than one .pst file in Outlook? Is this a
Hotmail inbox?

The folder name is MSN - Inbox. Yes, this is a Hotmail
inbox. If I move email from the Hotmail inbox to an
Outlook Inbox folder, the issues goes away...I am able to
now flag the email for follow up. Thanks.
 
To be clear, I still do have a question or issue. Why am
I not able to flag the email in the Hotmail inbox...is
there a fix for this issue? Thanks.
