Hi all

I have Excel 2002 SP3
is it possible to fix the width of all the columns
in a spread sheet?

thanks

Daniel

Anne

thanks for the link, it was not quite what I wanted but
it put me on track to work it out and of course
I learned something.

thanks

Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Well what exactly were you looking for.
Same applies to rows as well (autofit rows)

It is easier for me to use Ctrl+A (if you have Excel 2003 use Ctrl+Shift+SpaceBar)
then double click on the boundary between the column headers (A-B-C) or between the
row headers (1-2-3).

If you want cells to wrap within a cell use Format, cells, align (tab), wrap cells.

There is a problem with using AutoFit if you have merged cells.
There is a problem with using AutoFit in that once you've used it
you have overridden automatic and will have us it for that worksheet from that
point on. There is a macro to reset it back.

Anne

that's correct, and I was able to do so
once I played around in the Format>Column
area, which I did not realise was there,
having only used Format>Cells before.

thanks again

Daniel
