Fixed vs Proportional fonts?

Is there a way to tell at a glance which fonts in Word
are Fixed vs Proportional? In particular, I'm referring
to the font selection dialog. I need to use a
proportional font for some labels, and really dont want
courier. I found reference to a font called Andale, but
would rather not pay $20 for a new font.
Thanks in advance,
Sean

From your mention of Courier and Andale (Andale Mono), I suspect you're
looking for a monospaced rather than a proportional font. Andale Mono (as
the name implies) is monospaced. It is one of Microsoft's Core Fonts for the
Web and was supplied with several versions of Windows and Internet Explorer.
