Fixed most but still one problem

Thanks everyone for your help- I got rid of the W2 virus but some problems still remain:

Occasionally (more often than not) my START button is missing (transparent-I see wallpaper), the clock and everything else disappears as well. So I can't use Start button- it just shows a arrow (two sided) icon when I hover over it.

Still says my CD(blank) is not inserted- but it does play audio cds...
 
If this was my system then I would treat it as compromised, and I would
reload Win2000 from scratch. I like my systems to be clean, robust and
absolutely reliable.
