Hello,

I have a problem. I have a pc in my network with one harddrive, 3 network
drives and one dvd-drive.
Everytime someone uses a usb memory device, the device is stored under a
driveletter already in use by the networkdrive. Of course, I can change the
driveletter but I want windows to use a driveletter, anything above Q.

Is there a way to do this ?

Bernard

Change all _network_ driveletters to come after Q??

You can give a specific USB drive (device) a specific letter, but I don't
think you can give ANY USB the same letter, regardless of device.
I think Windows keeps some sort of memory on them, based on what (s/n??) I
don't know.

Hi,

my networkdrives are connected with E, F and G
my cdrom is Q (can be D)

the only thing I want is to tell windows to use any drive letter for usb
devices other than E, F, G

anyone ??

Bernard

Move the "mapped network" drives up so they won't interfere. If you
don't specify a drive letter for mapping Windows will start mapping at Z
and work down so as NOT to interfere with local drives.
