Fix for Windows Mail - Vista- Mail stuck in Outbox bug

It works. I think Microsoft should upgrade this hotfix to an important
update, so that people will have the problem fixed before it occurs, instead
of pulling their hair our for a day or so while they hunt for a solution
(including contacting my ISP who just asked me to delete and re-create the
email account in Windows Mail, which didn't help)

It can't be structured as an update because it is not a permanent fix.
All it does is remove stuck emails. There is nothing to prevent new
stuck emails from occurring. The best prevention is to use only the
antivirus programs we recommend in this forum, and never configure
your antivirus to scan emails.

My msg. is stuck in my junk email box, but how do I know if I am using 32 or
64 bit there are 2 dirrerent downloads which one do I use? And will this work
in my Junk mail box Thanks,

Try the following
Click on start
Click on Control Panel
Click System and Maintenance
Under System
Click View Amt. Ram and Processor Speed

This should tell you whether it is 64 of 32. Probably an easier way but I
don't know what it is.

You can hold down the Win-key (the one with the Windows on it) and
press the Pause key. This will bring up the System screen. Under
System type it tells you if you have 32-bit or 64-bit. (Anyone who has
to ask probably has 32-bit.) ;-)

I downloaded this fix from Microsoft and it worked. My email is working
perfectly again! Thanks

You will have to open the downloaded file and run it (with
Windows Mail closed).

I have downloaded the indicated fix as suggested, but mine is not
working! Do I need to save it to a certain file or do I just open it?
Please help

You need to install it. Also note that there is both a 32-bit version
and a 64-bit version. One will refuse to install, but which one
depends on which version of Windows you have. Try the 32-bit
version first, since it is more likely to install.
