Try as I may I can not set up Windows mail. I have the account set up but
can not receive or send mail. I am using Windows Vista. I am not very
computer literate so if any one can help please use terms I can understand.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Your email account provider should have a help page on their website with
the correct server names and settings.
If you tell us who it is, perhaps someone can help.

See this link from my website on how to setup an email account:

If you are having problems with POP and SMTP then take a look at your email
provider's help page. It should tell you there what to put in the POP and
SMTP boxes.
