Is it still "needed/necessary/desirable" to setup the motherboard bios
to shadow both the system & video bios with these faster cpu's &
video cards?

I was informed that linux doesn't use the shadowing ram & quite
possible windowsXP may not do so as well, these days. I'm running
xp w/sp1.

I just disabled both the shadowing after updating the video card to
a relatively new one, ati 9600xt.

Own follow-up. microsoft has info doc on knowledgebase that the NT
doesn't need any shadowing of any bios via the motherboard bios. It
also suggest that shadowing the motherboard bios not be done.

The doc is dated 2001, a few years after nt came out.
