firewire problems with external drive

Hello,

I´m having a problem with a hard drive in an external box. The conection
makes an error "delayed writing error" (or something like that, sorry but
it´s not in english) when writing data from my internal drive to the external.

The information about this problem in Maxtor, speak about some problems
between IEEE conexions and SP2, so if they are right, I need some hotfix
which I cannot find in microsoft´s web page.

Can anybody help me in this? Thanks a lot.

Yesterday night I spend quite a long time to FIND the hotfix, and it's
working fine (for now), so I hope it's not going to give more problems. It's
incredible how hard is to find something in microsoft web page, and how easy
using google for the same (and I downloaded de hotfix through windows, no
through external pages).

For your interest, anyway: I have a maxtor diamond 10 250GB PATA + icybox
360 (I think). And the problem was in my computer with firewire conexion,
because at work with a new dell and in USB2.0 is working now perfectly...

And speaking today about this with a coleague who bought some time ago an
external maxtor drive of 300GB, has the same problem, but with USB. I'll give
her the hotfix I got yesterday, and let's see if she can fix her problem, too.
