firewire external hard drive

how does one partition an external firewire, 160Gb hard
drive into two 80 Gb partitions.

i've tried partition magic and it will not do it.

i have the program, when i go thru all the steps to add another partition,
it gives an error message saying the partition cannot be created.

Look on page 9 of your PM 8.0 manual. That sort of tells me that not
all operations can be performed on external USB/Firewire drives.
Normally, the maker of the drive should provide software for the drive
to be "seen" from DOS or other software to FDisk and Format the drive.

I suggest you go to the maker of your drive's web site and see if they
have a FAQ or knowledge base that might help.
