Beth

I have windows XP and got the wonderful blaster virus.
It messed up several microsoft programs (IE, word, etc.)
so I did a dirty install. I could uninstall any program
and it would not let me install over these programs.
Well this fixed all my problems except one. MY
FIREWALL! This is very important one to fix.
When I try to activate it is says, "An error occurred
while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The
dependency service or group failed to start."
Can anyone answer this?
Thanks

Greetings --

Right-click My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications >
Services. In the right-hand pane, scroll down to right-click on the
Internet Connection Firewall and select Properties. Click the
Dependencies Tab. Make sure that all of the listed system
components/services are shown as started in the Services list.

Normally, you will need to have the Application Layer Gateway
Service, the Network Connections, the Network Location Awareness, and
the Remote Access Connection Manager started.

Okay I tried this and the same thing! The service is not
running. In the Dependencies Tab all are listed. Put it
is stopped and when I try to start it the error comes up!
