Hey all,

I have a small home network, but ever since ive installed
my new motherboard none have the other computers have been
able to access the internet. It says that its behind a
firewall, even though i've completly removed the one i had
on. Is there any suggestions what it might be, any help is
greatly appreciated!

Thanks

And this is related to the motherboard in what way? Perhaps what your post
should say is:

I reinstalled W2K on one of the computers on my network that had ICS
enabled. Now other computers on my network cannot access the Internet using
this computer as a gateway. What did I forget to do?

And a possible reply might be:
Maybe you forgot to enable ICS on the LAN connection on the computer you
reinstalled the OS on.

what a lame reply

the guy came here for help

maybe he has better things to do than just browse some
support group replying to posts trying to belittle people.

No - It was a good reply. This isn't even a FireWall News Group and as Ray pointed out, a
motherboard has no bearing on FireWall action. Also Ray pointed out there were relevant
facts being left out of the post.

I disagree, it was very condescending. It may have been an appropriate
reply if the OP was a more experienced user of Win2k but that does not
appear to be the case. Yes, the original post was a little lacking in
details but I'm sure the poster provided all of the facts he could think of.
A better reply would be for someone to ask him to provide a few more
details.

I'm sorry -- It's an opinion that I do not share.

Your out-voted there GO-GO
Ray has a "matter of fact" honesty and not given to pragmatism. If this is some kind of
competition, tell me where you are and we can arm wrestle to see who's right. Now, how would
that be? Oh, you had better bring your lunch. I can still bench 215, and that's what I
weigh.

Let's just let Ray alone. How about it?

Damn, I missed out on all this by not being on a computer last night.

I'll admit that I often look back at some of my replies and call myself an
a$$hole and think, "I didn't have to sound so cocky about it." But, hey,
life is hard. The days of tough love and strong discipline are gone. Also
gone are the days of motivation, work ethics, and self reliance. I do not
believe it is a coincidence.

Thanks for the defense Dave and DC! :]

and i was just thinking

215 isnt really that much.... especially since you weigh
that also........ on average everyone should be able to
bench at least 1.5 times their body weight.

i guess you either need to lose weight or hit the weights
harder

example: i only weigh 175 but im benching between 270 and
275....... i lost weight and hit the weights harder

so maybe do both

Ray:

Sometimes you have to "pull teeth" to get information from the OP. Often this is painful
for others to view and they comment. Those who do the job know its is necessary to get the
job done. Those on the sideline then complain, yet they do nothing to even try to help the
OP. They attack the replier and ask - "Is that really necessary ?" And you have to reply -
"Yes, sometimes it really is."

Been there, done it, and got the tee-shirt.

actually, there wasnt any information trying to be pulled
it was just a arrogant answer

but its cool

there are people in the world that want to help others,
then there are people in the world who help others but
expect the person to feel like they were graced by the
information god.......... ummm ok, consider us graced

oh check out my name......... look close ..... its for
people like you and other graceful people

I think the voting stands at 3 to 1 now.
