Diamondback

Hello all,

I just switched to a new PC and installed MS Office Pro, including Outlook.
Everything was working just fine until I noticed that I couldn't reply to
any emails ... every time I did I got the following message:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: RE:

Sent: 12/20/2003 9:52 AM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'cox.net' on 12/20/2003 9:52 AM

550 Relaying is prohibited

I suspect that this is some sort of firewall problem, but I don't have a
clue about how to resolve it. For the record I can send emails out without
issue. Apparenmtly I just cannot reply to any messages. I am running XP
Media Edition on a 3.2Ghz Sony Vaio desktop. Any guidance is appreciated.

It isn't anything to do with a firewall - have you checked your SMTP server
settings in your Internet mail account to make sure you're using the right
one, and are you set up to authenticate to the SMTP server if need be?

Yep, all my settings are correct. It turns out that I am having trouble
replying to messages sent via Cox. Verizon is checking it out. Thanks for
responding.
