Hi all...
If you noticed my previous post, I had trouble setting up a network between
2 computers because I had not turned off Windows Firewall.
Now that I have turned it off, I want to turn it back on without giving up
file and folder sharing between my wife's and my computer.

What is the safest way to occasionally share files between 2 users?

Can you recommend a Windows firewall security level that would be suitable
for home use? I have several programs that automatically search for updates,
etc, and want to allow them specifically.

Thanks for any help you can toss my way!
John

An easy way to configure the Windows Firewall is to run the Network
Setup Wizard. When the Wizard asks, tell it to turn on file and
printer sharing.

To configure the Windows Firewall manually:

1. Go to Control Panel | Security Center | Windows Firewall.
2. Click the "On (recommended)" button.
3. Click the Exceptions tab.
4. Put a check mark in the box "File and Printer Sharing".
5. Click OK

You don't have to make any settings to allow programs to search for
updates.
