Firewall (provided with) XP

I am running WinXP. My system is suffering by virus. It is too slow do i need firewall to destroy it. Can i install it or do i need to buy it

A Firewall will not rid you of your virus. If the virus
is eating up precious resources and taking up CPU cycles
the best bet is to buy Anti-Virus software and remove it.
Then invest in a firewall to help prevent further
infecion.

One more comment;
To install Windows Firewall (basic protection) for free,
goto;

Start>My Computer> in ther "other Places" pane on the
left side of your window select "my Network Places", In
the same left side pane under "Network Tasks," select
View network connections. Right-click your internet
connection type, and select properties. Goto the Advanced
Tab and Select the box under Internet Connection Firewall.

Well if you buy one you still need to install it. Having
the disk on top of your pc case really won't help you
very much.As far as you virus goes try some Nyquil and
get a good nights rest.
