I keep getting a network error stating that I am behind a
firewall unable to connect to webcam.

Hi Sonia

Regarding your post, there is not enough information to determine a likely
cause.

Can you provide more details about what you are trying to do? For example,

Q1) is your Webcam interface part of MSN Messenger?

Q2) If not, is it part of some other application?

Q3) Do you use Firewall Software such as Zone Alarm, Black Ice or Internet
Connection Firewall (in WinXP)?

Q4) Do you use Firewall Hardware?

Q5) Can you provide the *exact* error message?

Please see the following for more information:

The MSN Messenger webcam conversation feature adds video to your
conversation. To use the webcam conversation feature, you must have MSN
Messenger version 6.0 or later. To send video to another person using the
webcam conversation feature, you must have a Web camera. You do not need a
Web camera to receive video from another person. To adjust your webcam
conversation settings, use "Web Camera Settings" on the on the MSN
Messenger "Tools" menu.

FIREWALL: Your router, firewall, or Network Address Translator (NAT) must
be Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) compatible. It is recommended that you
open the following ports to allow for video functionality: 6891-6900, 9000.
