Help! I just noticed that my Windows Firewall is not on, and when I try to
turn it back on, that option is not highlighted. It won't let me change
from off to on. What gives?!! Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you installed any other firewall or security suite?

Thanks, but that did not work. The firewall screen is still telling me
"Windows firewall is turned off. Your network administrator is using Group
Policy to control these settings." My Norton and spyware checkers did find
a few problems over the past few days. I wonder if some virus or malware
changed my firewall settings?

No. I did already have Norton, though, but I haven't made any changes to
it.

Two questions:

1. Have you tried deleting the "WindowsFirewall" as stated in the article?
2. Do you have Windows OneCare installed?

#1 did it!!! Thanks!!! I hadn't tried regedit before because it said to do
it for XP Home and I have XP Pro. It did the job, however. Really
appreciate your help!
