firewall blocking computer access

my windows Xp firewall is blocking me from accessing my computer over LAN i
still want the firewall on but how to i enable people to acces my computer?
 
You will need to open up the Firewall and make an exception in there so that
the firewall will allow access to your LAN. For example, you can specify an
IP scope in the exceptions tab to allow, say for example, 192.168.1.100 -
192.168.1.110. Also while you are in your firewall, check to see if you have
File and Printer sharing checked also.
 
Do you mean access file shares?

Turn on the File+Print sharing exception.
By default, it will open the correct ports for users on your LAN only.
