I re-installed windows xp professional on my computer, it erased all my maill folders on my computer, is there anyway in getting these back? I was able to find my excel and word files.

I've read you also lost files and folders but you found your excel files back. Can you please tell me how you did that and where you found it? I was working in excel when the power went down, just for a second, but my computer didn't make automaticly any back up. Is there a possibility that I can find the work I've done back
