I know I can ping a computer in my workgroup (MSHome) by name. in my
case it is Secondary, and get the IP address of that computer in return.
But I wonder if there is a way to do it without pinging it? I've
searched Help and the Google groups but have been unable to find a way
to do it.

Thank you.

I think that this is what you are asking...

Go to the computer you want to know the ip# of and

START

RUN

ipconfig /all

How simple and straightforward that is! It is just what I was looking
for.

Thank you very much.
