Find target and open containg folder fail to work

I assume they're releated, so does anyone know why Find target and open
containg folder options fail to work? I'm running xp pro sp1. TIA

I have the same problem recently with XP Home SP1. When I select
properties on a shortcut Icon then select Find Target nothing happens.

Anybody?
 
Just to comapre notes have you ran any registry cleaners on your system? I
have and think that might have caused the problem.
