Find does not a find font size. It will find specific text, a specific font,
etc. but if I search for say 12 point it says "search item not found" even
though the cursor may be in a block of 12 point type. I need to reformat some
fairly large files and this always worked on the old versions of word. Help!
Thanks.

Assuming you are in Word 2002, go to Find. In the dialogue box, select More.
Select Format, Font, and designate the size you want. You can also select
Style. Be sure that the next time you do a search in the document, you select
the 'No Formatting' box.

Thanks for trying. I know thats how it is supposed to work, my problem is
that it doesn't work. It clearly shows text as 12 point or 18 point in the
document, but when I search for 12 or 18 point text, it says "search item not
found"

Have you made sure that the "Find what" box is empty and that in the Format
Font dialog only the text size (not the font) was selected? It works for me.

Hi Ed & Suzanne-

Started following this yesterday, and although I don't have an explaination
I have found you both to be right.

Tried it on one system yesterday in Word 2003 and it _did not work_ no
matter what I did. Today, on a different system but still running Word 2003
it works like a charm. So I went back to the first system to compare updates
& tried it again while there - works fine now!

Only suggestion I can offer is "Try, Try Again".

LOL |:>)

At least I know I am not the only one! I am fairly confident I am doing
everything correctly. I restarted computer, restarted Word, tried it on
different files, etc all with the same results. I have had many more problems
with Word 2003 than previous versions, is this typical?
