I made a find and replace button in a form and it was working fine just now
when i did find and the item was not found it doesn't give me the usual
message box telling you that the item wasn't found, it just says it in tiny
in the corner - where did that message box disappear too. I'm afraid it will
be confusing to users if that box doesn't appear?

It wasn't that you had your office assistant visible was it? These sorts of
messages frequently show up as a speech bubble coming from the office
assistant if you've got one running.

I hate that paperclip. Let me straight into the proper help anyday...

does the message appear in a dialog box or is it somewhere like the status
bar (or something else entirely)?

another thought... when you added the find button, did you use Find or Find
Next?

I've tested this using a wizard to create the buttons and FindNext doesn't
either bring up the find/replace dialog box or warn me if there are no
matching items.

If you've used find next, recreate the button using just find. (just use the
wizard, it's easier!)

It's on the little status bar at the bottom. It's not problem of find next, i
did find and it was working find and all of a sudden it gives me the message
as stated! What could it be?
