Hi - I just wondered if there was a way to globally change all words within a
document which have been typed beween speech marks/parentheses to bold?

Many thanks for your time! M

Hi,

If the parentheses are all properly paired, you can check "Match wildcards"
in "Edit > Replace", then

Find what: "*"
Replace with: ((leave empty, Format > Font > Italic))

For more details, safer ways (in case not all are paired...), and more
complex macros, see

Many thanks, Klaus - but when I try this method, all I get is the words
originally typed inside speech marks turn to asterisks! What am I doing
wrong ? I have tried all sorts of ways of doing it and, whilst each occurence
does become bold, the original word is replaced with *!
