filter sent messages

I am a Eudora user considering Outlook. I use Eudora filters
frequently but I cannot find anywhere in Outlook I can fileter [rule]
outgoing mail. Looks like everything clogs up the sent box. I do not
want to copy to a folder. I want to move a message to a folder when is
it sent. Is it just my imagination or is Outlook not capable of this

You have three choices for storing sent mail, two of which are automatic.
The first is, of course, to tell Outlook where you want the message stored
when you compose it. Click View>Options and check the appropriate boxes and
specify the appropriate folders. The second is the Sent Items folder and is
selected with Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Save copies of messages in Sent
Items folder. The third is to have replies to messages saved in the folder
holding the message to which you are replying with Tools>Options>E-mail
Options>Advanced E-mail Options>In folders other than the Inbox...
