this may be a really basic question, but I'm new to Excel ...

I have several hundred thousand text entries in Column A.
I have a shortlist of say, 10 of those entries in Column B.

How do I filter Column A so that it only displays the 10 (or as many
as there exist from those 10) entries from the shortlist?

Thanks,
- Guy.

Using this solution, you will find out just how efficient XL2007 really is. <g>

In a third column, enter this formula as an array formula using Ctrl + Shift + Enter...
=OR(A2=$B$2:$B$11)
Fill the formula down to the bottom of the data in column A.
The above assumes there are column titles in the first row and ten entries in column B.
Filter on "True" in the third column.
Since you are new to Excel, some helpful Excel posting tips here...
