Filter Applied

I recently changed over to Outlook from Outlook Express,
and when I receive email, it says that I have 9 new
emails, but when I go to the inbox there is nothing
there! In the top right and bottom left corners there is
a message saying filter applied, but I don't have any
filters setup. Any ideas why I can't see the unread
emails?
 
Right click on the toolbar and select Advanced to show the advanced toolbar.
On the view dropdown, ensure it is set to all messages.

virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted
w/out reading.
