fills effects - textures

I often use same 2 or 3 textures or patterns for filling objects, so I'd like
to create icon on toolbar so that I can just click in for fast fill rather
than selecting Fill Effects, and then my texture/pattern/etc. I was able to
save "Fill Effects" on toolbar, but still have to click several times to
choose my texture. Any ideas?

Also, can anyone tell me what type of files the fills are and directory
where the files are stored?
 
Hi Mary,

You can try recording a macro as you perform all the steps manually and then
add a toolbar button to your macro.

Location of the files depends on your installation. Mine are located at:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\WEBS11\

It allows you to pick up a shape's fill, including textured/patterned fills,
memorize it as a style and later apply it to other shapes with one click.

Internally to one of PPT's DLLs, as I recall. They're not in external files.
At least not all of them. At least not in some versions of PPT. <g> See
Glenna's answer, though.
