Often, my emails contain large attachments. How do I file these sent
messages without the attachments - to avoid taking up major space? Can the
attachments be removed from the sent message?

Open the item (in the Sent Items folder) in its own window. Preview
pane won't work. You need to actually *open* the item (double-click
on it). Then right-click on the attachment and Remove.

Recruiter,

If you want a way to automate this there is a program from Sperry Software
that can automatially strip attachments and place them into a specified
folder. It can also replace the attachment with a link to the file that is
now saved on your hard drive. It's very handy if this is a major issue for
you and is only $34.95. Check it out at:
http://www.sperrysoftware.com/Outlook/Attachment-Save.asp

I also found another program that can strip and save attachments for only
$15 and free for 30 days: http://www.rsbr.de/Software/OASniffer/index_eng.htm

If you want a free version and know something about VB scripts, check out
http://www.xirx.com/resume/removeattachments.htm. It will stip the
attachments, save the attachments, and insert a link into the original email.
