FILES WIPED!!!!!

I hope no one else has had this problem. When I went to
open a file in My Documents, I found they had all been
wiped and reduced to 1 byte in size. This is not a virus,
as a continually updated Norton Antivirus runs, and my
firewall has never been off. It has to be a Microsoft
problem. It's the sort of thing they'd mess up.
Where have my files been stashed. (I hink it is only
access that has vannished, rather than the file, for I
saw some reduce right before my eyes, and there was no HD
activity).
This is desperate. Can anyone help?

Hi

I don't see how you can put the blame onto MS. If you have a firewall running 24/7 and have the latest definitions for your AV program - you will have to look elsewhere - although Norton products aren't without their faults.

Have you installed any software since the problem started? Have you uninstalled any software since the problem started?

What, exactly, do you mean by 'I saw some reduce right before my eyes'? A few more prudent details and someone may be able to help you.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft (you're probably one of
those who blame MS for everything from all your computer problems to the
hole in the ozone layer and world poverty). Now visit link three in my

How do you know it "has absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft", you
shithole?
No, most of in the know, are absolutely certain most computer problems, the
hole in the ozone, and world poverty, are from you being alive.
Respectively...you wouldn't know how to 'help' anyone with a computer problem
if you tried. That repugnant breath and nauseating body stench, is far worse
than any 60,000 head herd of cows farting once a minute each. If you'd stop
eating so much and try to actually lose 50% of that lard on your body (which
would bring you down to a semi-respectable 200 pounds), there would be plenty
of food to go around for everyone.
Now get that flabby, stinking ass out in front of an oncoming Mack
Truck...waddle faster damn you!

(snip rest of flame)

Your hard drive may be dying. Take the computer to a good local shop
(not a CompUSA or BestBuy type store) and have them vet it.
