Per R. McCarty:
Clear the list ? - using XP's native CD Burning facility caches the files
into a profile folder "CD Burning". This creates a copy of the original
content to avoid "File in Use" issues when burning the disk. By using
Windows Explorer you can navigate to ->
C:\Documents & Settings\'YourLoginName'\Local Settings\
Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning
You can remove the contents of this folder which should turn off the
"Files are ready to be Written to Disk" option.
Maybe that's part of my problem. There's nothing in that directory.
(C:\Documents and Settings\Kolon Skorupski\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\CD Burning)
Double clicking the drive icon for my CD burner, however, brings up a list of
directories and files whose icons are sort of faded and which have a little
plus sign on them.
I figured they were just pointers/shortcuts to the files tb really burned, but
when I tried deleting one of them, the actual folder with the data in it got
deleted too.
Right-clicking the drive icon, of course, exposes a "Delete temporary files" on
the popup menu. But, considering what happened above, I'd be reluctant to try
it - although in the end, I guess I'll just bite the bullet and copy those files
to some backup location and pull the trigger to see what happens.
