I installed xp on my system about a month ago and everything was fine till last week
My computer shut down and rebooted its self while i was'nt using it. It then crashed when i was
trying to log on to my user account on windows, so i restarted the system it tried scan disk on the reboo
but failed to finish it. I had to restart again, this time it loaded windows but no icons were present no
even a start menu. So i had to shut down, now it gives me the option on start up; safe mode, last knowen
good configuration and normal. Any option i choose failes to load windows for the following reason
C:\windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt.
So i booted up to a command prompt and looked at the path stated and when i asked to 'dir'
C:\windows\system32\config\ its saying there is an error on that part of disk
Would it be possible to delete that path and create a new one by copying the same directory fro
another xp machine
Any info will be appreciated
Cheers Eric.
