files lost while writing to CD

I downloaded a group of video files to be burned to CDs. I left them in the
files to written to CD folder. After burning the first three file to a CD,
the files list is gone and I can not find them on my computer. Where did
they go and how do I get them back? I paid for these files and need to use
them in a video presentation.

Recycle bin?

They may not have the name, now, you think they should.

Remember DOS? It changed the first character of the file name to
jibber-jabber.

The "deleted" name may have something to do with fruit or naval aviators. I
forget.

Put another file in the to be written CD folder, maybe they'll show up
- it's worth a try :)
