Is it possble that files can be deleted without any one actually clicking on
a file and physically deleting it. For example we have had files go missing,
they are not in the Recycle bin or anywhere on the computer but no one has
deleted anything. Is there a maximum size that a folder can get to before
files are deleted to create more space?

Generally, speaking files on a healthy system don't just disappear.
Since we know nothing about your computer, it isn't possible to give
you focused troubleshooting. Here are a few general things to check:

1. How large is your hard drive and how much free space is left?
2. Where are you saving the mysteriously disappearing files? What are
they?
3. What is the virus/malware status of the computer? If you think it is
clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?
