If I double click on a file (doc, xls, htm/url etc) the application and file
is very slow to open (wasn't always so). If I open the file within the
related application (Word, Excel, IE7 etc) the file opens without delay. On
face value it appears to be an 'association' problem but I have checked and
renewed the associations without improvement.
I have searched Google and followed most, if not all the advice found but
again no solution. From NGs I notice others seem to have similar problems,
although not common judging from the occasional posts, but I have yet to see
a solution. Perhaps one solution doesn,t fit all
.
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions as to what may be the problem?
AVP is NOD32 and disabling that doesn't help. Malware control is by
Malwarebyte, Spyware Terminator and Spybot Search and Destroy, firewall is
Sygate (old but effective) and CCleaner clears out the rubbish. I am as
confident as I can be the System is clean.
