File upload from emulator

When run in the emulator, my app writes a file -- which I
then need to copy to my desktop filesystem for (tortuous)
scrutiny. Eyeballing in the emulator is not enough.

Is there a way to do this copy, without using a physical
handheld device?

What you need to do is create a shared folder on your desktop and copy the
files from your emulator to there (using the emulator's explorere).
