Hi,

If you're not trying to move or transfer your operating system, an easy
way to get files from one machine to another is to hookup both your
drives in the machine you want to copy things out of. It's then drag
and drop easy to move files around.

Set the jumper on your newer drive to slave and you should be good to
go. If you don't know much about swapping drives around, just mention
what you need to know and I'm sure someone here will be happy to help.

If you Have a LAN set up, you can use the File and Settings Transfer Wizard
to transfer files over the LAN, or you can transfer files manually into a
shared folder on the New PC.

Be Sure to Configure Windows Firewall For File and Printer Sharing! :)

Hi again,

Have you looked around your hard drives makers site and looked for the
software they offer for free to do what you're wanting to do?

The easiest way to hook up your second drive for some file sharing is to
disconect your CR rom and temporily plug its cables into your spare
drive, the one that's usually jumpered as a slave. Occasionally you can
also set the jumper to CS/Cable Select and have your computer work out
things for you.

You could also just plug your second drive into the middle of the flat
cable that's hooked to your master drive if that seems easier to you.

Don't worry much about not having the jumper set correctly, it won't fry
things if it's wrong, it just won't work that way.
