is there some service where i can store large files on the web for
free?

i can email myself small files on yahoo mail but not large ones.

but where can i send it to? i dont think yahoo or gmail will let me
receive messages that big.

www.yousendit.com

-you upload the file to their server,
-they send you an email notificatication of this file availability, and
-you download the file from their server onto your PC

They don't send you the actual file, just the notification of the file

There is a post from clicker, "Unlimited Email and File Storage",
where he suggest http://www.shinyfeet.com/ , an unlimited web email
and file storage. Ciao

I find shinyfeet gives me random false virus messages which makes it
impossible to upload files.See this thread

There is only one right now for free 2gb with 50mb attachment.

Shinyfeet or gawab, it would be nice to know how they can provide
their services. Neither site seems to mention how so IMO they should
both be kept away from.

Comments like "Gawab.com reserves the right to mass mail your users"
and "No POP/SMTP support" seem to partly explain the catches though.
