File size won't reduce after removal of large picture

I have a spreadsheet that has a logo (as picture) inserted
into it. I have discovered that the logo file is huge
(~2Mb). I have created a new one and reduced its size, but
when I replace the old logo with the new, the Excel file
size remains the same. Is there a way to compress the file
after doing the logo swap?
