I am on a shared network in a seperate workgroup. Everyone can see and access
my files. I have set permissions for the two other client computers and
everything works fine, they are prompted for their USER & PASS.
Unfortunately, when I go to another computer outside of the workgroup I can
access the files with no authentication. Please Help, thanks.

Workgroups don't provide any type of security or access control. A
network can have any number of workgroups, and a computer user in any
workgroup can access a computer in any other workgroup.

Windows XP doesn't control access to its shared files based on what
computer is requesting access. If you disable "simple file sharing",
XP Professional controls access to its shared files by looking at the
user name and password of the user who wants access. If XP
Professional recognizes them, because it has a user account with the
same user name and password, it grants access. If it doesn't
recognize them, it prompts for a user name and password.
