Xp pro is the host, xp home is the client. The host will share the internet
with the client, but not the files. Everything is configured correctly, so
why is there no file sharing

If everything is configured properly, and there's no file sharing, then you have
to have a hardware problem. That's the simple answer. ;)

One of the most common causes of any file sharing problem would be a
misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other security component.
There are several other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your
