file sharing

I am wondering if anyone has had a problem with file
sharing between different systems that are sharing a home
network. I can see the shared folders on the other
computers when I look at My Network but every time I try
to access them I get the following message:

<drive> is not accessible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource.

Any suggestions?

Make sure the XP's firewall is disabled. It is intended for direct
connections to the Internet only. If you installed a third party firewall,
make sure it isn't blocking access between the machines. Ensure NetBIOS over
TCP/IP is enabled on all machines. Details here.

In addition to Eric's suggestions, please provide here a list of what
different systems are a problem for you. Windows XP, which is an
attempt of M$ to merge the Win 9x and Win NT/2K product lines,
sometimes has problems with either when configured incorrectly. What
version of WinXP (Home/Pro) do you have?
