file sharing two xp pc's

2 pc's both running xphome+sharing internet connection via router and hub- no problemo..
howver- host pc unable to access shared files/folders + out of the blue name and password has appeared when trying to open shared folders on other pc....i know someone has the answers for me!!!! thnx in anticipation-not sweating the small stuff-not really..lo
 
Turn off the XP firewall.
