file search

Happy new year, not sure if i am in the right area but
i'll try. Is it possible to find a file that was made in
works 6.0 or Office for small business? i am running win
me. thank you.
 
If you know the name of the file and/or any of its content, the search
facilities in Windows Explorer will find it, if it is still stored on your
machine.

I dont know if was saved. One of my kids wrote it. thanx for your help. :-

As Graham mentioned, you can also use Windows Explorer to search for ALL
Word documents (type "*.doc" in the "Named" text box). If you have an idea
of the date, you can also use the "Date" feature to narrow the search to a
specific day or date range. I would assume the Works 6.0 extension is "wps"
so if you don't find the Word document using "*.doc", try using "*.wps".
