Got a 9 page database directory. We need to send it out to a group via
email.

A number of people don't have MSWorks database.

I'd like to get the file into some other format. It would seem our options
are to print it out and:

A. scan the hard copy and store as .jpg

B. scan the hard copy and store as .pdf

C. scan the hard copy and store as .bmp

Am I right that we will have to print it out and scan it back as something
else? Can't convert .dbf files to other formats direct, can I ???

If we need to print and scan, which of the above gives us the smallest file
size?

I'm not familiar with a Works database but if you have an option to output
the data in a .csv file format. CSV files can be used by many software
applications.

Print it out as a PDF file and send the PDF.

Get a free PDF printing utility such as Primo PDF from
www.primopdf.com which will install itself as a printer.

When you print the reports select Primo PDF as the printer. You can
specify the file name for the output and the folder where it is to be
saved.

Then simply attach that PDF file to your email.

Good luck

Hi RB:

IF the database is not very complex and If the stations that don't have
MSWorks have any word processor at all, you may be able to convert the .dbf
to a text file with comma quote delineation. Many word processors would then
be able to pick this up. If so, a Search and Replace could format the
delineations into an organized sort of spread sheet.

Please let us know what solution you found.

I got Primo and put the 9 pages of the database report into .pdf format
files. Guess they'll be a smaller total than .jpgs or .bmps.
