File - open - dialogue

This issue just started. When accessing a file under the File Open dialogue
box in all of my Windows apps (My Computer and Corel Word Perfect are just
fine), the sort view is always by "most recent" and "List" versus "details"
etc. Even after change the sort view, it will revert back to the same sort
view of "most recent" and "list". In addition the "dot" in front of the sort
view has disappeared. I've tried a system restore with no success. Is this
a corrupted registry problem? Help.

Open the Windows Explorer. Press CTRL while you close the Explorer
window. Open Explorer again and retry.
