Hi Jazz!

Where are you saving to? Always work from and to a file on your hard
drive rather than from and to floppy disc.

I am working a helpdesk. I have a client who is using Office 2K on XP platform. She has had the software re-installed before trying to correct the problem, but a fairly saavy user of the product. We have tried to save multiple ways, but have yet been unsuccessful, have you ever seen theis as a recurring issue?

Where is she saving the file? Network or local harddrive?

If it's the network, then ask her to try saving it to the harddrive--maybe it's
a permissions thing (or even network hardware error???).

If it's the local harddrive, maybe she's on a partition that's full????

If it's a removeable media, tell her to stop doing that forever! Use the
hardrive/LAN and then use windows explorer to copy to that location.

And if I recall correctly, Windows XP has some permission settings, too. Maybe
she doesn't have access to that location????

Just guesses...

After you've eliminated all that, can she save any (similar sized) workbook to
that location? If yes, then maybe it's a macro created by the developer. And
that developer doesn't want the workbook saved.

She could try opening excel in safe mode:

Close excel
windows start button|Run
Excel /safe

And then open the file and see if she can save it.

If she can, maybe she shouldn't <bg>.
