That is the default font and color chosen probably as it may have been liked
by the developers.
You have the option of changing the font and teh color to your choice

1) Open display from control panel or right click on the desktop and click
properties
2) Go to the appearance tab.
3) Click advanced button
4) From the Item list, choose icon. You should be able to change the font.

You can scroll through the list of items to determine which items can be
changed and which can not. If an item can be changed, the option will become
activated. Once you have made your changes to the font color, click OK. Your
new font color should be viewable.

why are the file name in blue or black

These are compressed files and windows just let you know that they ar4e
compressed and not frquently used Vs the black ones which frequently used.

Windows Compress them to save sapce and enhance performance.

RR,

Either you have single-click selected or the directories are compressed

START | CONTROL PANEL | FOLDER OPTIONS

On the GENERAL tab:

Is SINGLE-CLICK selected?

If the text is blue on folders... you will probably have compressed the file
system...

The ones that are blue are compressed.
Don't worry about it though NTFS handles compression very well
so there will be no performance hit.
Disk cleanup compresses files that are not used...or rarely used

I did run the disk cleanup bout a year ago with "compress old files"
enabled. I didn't really want to do this. Is it possible to uncompress the
compressed files? I think this "compressing old files" leads to disk activity
when I least need it.

You may UNcompress files using the Advanced Properties button in either
the Files or Folders Properties entry after right clicking on either
File or folder in question.
