I'm trying to copy "my pictures" from one computer to another.

When I try, I get
Cannot copy adriana: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write protected
and that the file is not currently in use.

=======================

By trying various subdirectories, I drilled down to the file in
question, adriana.html.

On my old computer, I don't see any funny attributes, but I also can't
edit it. Access is denied.

I tried setting this file's folder (and below) to uncheck the read
only, but it failed at this file.

I went to the command line and saw:
C:\Documents and Settings\brazee\My Documents\My Pictures\2003 part
2\Pics from
Ian\quinn 2002\adriana>attrib *.html
A C:\Documents and Settings\brazee\My Documents\My
Pictures\2003 part 2
\Pics from Ian\quinn 2002\adriana\adriana.html

C:\Documents and Settings\brazee\My Documents\My Pictures\2003 part
2\Pics from
Ian\quinn 2002\adriana>

What is my next step?

Hi

Please see if the following helps:

"How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308421

Thanks, that worked. What did turning off simple file sharing cost
me?

What is the most efficient way to periodically synchronize two very
large "my documents" folders between two computers? I have been
using drag and drop, overwriting all the files from my main computer
to my backup computer.

It helped until I got to a different file, where I find it has no
group names available in the security tab. I added "Everyone" and
continued. Nope, the drag copy failed, and I had to start over.

That worked for 20 minutes until it found another file that needed.
This will take forever.
